Background A Touch to Remember is a tactile book project exploring how touch influences memory, perception, and experience, serving as an early foundation for my thesis research. The book is designed to be navigated through touch using section tabs, braille page numbers, and varied materials such as uncoated paper, glossy paper, and acetate to create layered and distinguishable sections. Visual elements like bitmapped imagery, dotted lines, and typography reference the cellular structure of Braille, while a pink spot color evokes themes of tenderness and human connection. Alongside the book, I created TouchText, a typeface built on a six cell grid inspired by Braille that integrates tactile and visual readability, allowing the typography to be layered or embossed to support more inclusive communication.
